Reports from three reliable sources reveal that the gunman, who targeted his wife, was also among the deceased. The unfortunate incident transpired shortly after 7 p.m. in the evening, at the iconic Cook’s Corner in Trabuco Canyon. The shooter’s life ended following the occurrence, as confirmed by officials.
Four individuals, including the gunman, were declared deceased at the scene, according to official sources. Additionally, six other individuals sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital, with five of them bearing gunshot wounds. Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fennessy shared these details about the tragic event.
In response to the armed assailant, Orange County sheriff’s deputies confronted the situation, leading to a confrontation that involved multiple deputies and ultimately resulted in the gunman’s demise. Undersheriff Jeff Hallock conveyed his condolences to the Trabuco Canyon community, acknowledging the profound impact of Cook’s Corner on the local area.
The identities of the gunman and the victims remain undisclosed at this time. Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo reported that two of the injured individuals were in critical condition, while the other four were in stable condition.
